The town of Queen Creek is a growing community in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Queen Creek is primarily located in the southeast corner of Maricopa County and partially in Pinal County. The town is within 10 minutes of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport and Arizona State University's Polytechnic Campus, and 45 minutes from Sky Harbor International Airport. Queen Creek's Economic Development Strategic Plan identifies five targeted sectors in which the town focuses its marketing and recruitment efforts. These sectors are agritainment (agribusiness, arts, recreation, entertainment, etc.), health care and biotechnology, higher education, software and information technology and manufacturing. The town has several programs in place designed to assist entrepreneurs and businesses including Gangplank Queen Creek (a collaborative workspace), Shop Queen Creek (a shop-local program) and the facade improvement program. 

In Queen Creek, the relaxed, rural lifestyle is preserved with agritainment destinations attracting hundreds of thousands of tourists each year. The town-owned Horseshoe Park & Equestrian Centre, a premier event venue, hosts equestrian events of the English and western persuasion, as well as non-equestrian events such as flat track racing and barrel racing. Schnepf Farms is a family-owned working farm that provides entertainment, education and delicious, locally grown fruits and vegetables through a variety of seasonal festivals, concerts and events. Just across from Schnepf Farms is the Queen Creek Olive Mill, Arizona's only working olive farm and mill, which offers daily tours. Queen Creek also has a Food Network-featured restaurant and expansive retail store. Hayden Flour Mills at Sossaman Farms maintains Arizona's historical traditions by growing heritage grains. Scenic views include the San Tan Mountains to the south and the Superstition Mountains to the northeast. San Tan Mountain Regional Park offers open-space and recreational opportunities. Plans are currently underway for an 11-mile events-oriented, multi-use trail loop around town. 

In the heart of the Town Center is Queen Creek’s own "Communiversity" offering a variety of degree and certificate programs from Rio Salado College, Chandler-Gilbert Community College, Ottawa University and the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine & Health Sciences. The Queen Creek Library is designed to provide a gathering place for people of all ages. It includes the Mary Lou Fulton Children's Center, Teen Oasis, general reading areas, public computers, study rooms, conference rooms and town recreation programming space. The Queen Creek Performing Arts Center provides quality professional theater and community theater opportunities. The Barney Family Sports Complex offers family-oriented sporting activities for all ages. Queen Creek's two newest parks are the Splash Pad at Founder's Park and the Pocket Park for Pups.
